Career Center - Turning Hard Work and Commitment into Success!
Work means different things for different people. For some it defines;
although for others it may be a mix of status and income. Customer
service has often been viewed as 'the' employment of choice for
many blind individuals - particularly now with the availability
of adaptive equipment; however, not everyone is interested, nor
wishes to pursue this type of training.
The Louisiana Center for the Blind believes that all blind and
visually impaired individuals are employable; however, without choices
employment doesn't work. Types of work and places of work are all
part of successful employment and our goal is to find that unique
employment situation that 'fits' the individual. Upon successful
completion of training, clients enter the work place highly qualified
for the job of 'their' choice.
"Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance
to work hard at work worth doing."
Theodore Roosevelt
