About Us - Our Goals

The most important goal of the Louisiana Center for the Blind is to help blind persons fully participate in the economic, social and spiritual lives of their communities -- to be all that they can be! To accomplish this, the Center provides intensive training in the skills of blindness and encourages the development of a positive attitude about blindness. By combining challenging opportunities to build self-confidence, effective teaching techniques, and association with other successful blind persons, the Center has provided the foundation for its graduates to become successfully employed in all professions ... lawyers, scientists, health care professionals, teachers, customer service representatives, administrators, restaurant managers, factory workers, computer programmers and technicians.
