2007 Christmas Letter

"From home to home, and heart to heart, from one place to another. The warmth and joy of Christmas, brings us closer to each other." Emily Matthews

December 2007

Dear Alumni and Friends:

The past year has been one of challenge and growth. We have come to a fuller understanding of the bonds of love that tie us together, and have learned to express our appreciation of those we love because life is a gift to be treasured.

This year we welcomed two new staff members: Janette Woodard, an alumna, as apartment manager; and Eric Guillory, as Director of Youth Services. Crystal, Eric’s wife, and his adorable son Austin added much energy to our summer programs this year. Through our programs for seniors, we continue to reach more older adults who need to hear our message about blindness.

Thanks to the work that each of you does everyday in your communities, we are blessed with numerous requests and referrals for new students who are eager to increase their independence and explore new possibilities. Our current students are motivated by regular “bell ringers” in morning announcement from all of your calls and emails with news of achievements in your careers, education and families.

During this time of year, we cherish our LCB traditions and memories, and plan for a bright future. We wish you a holiday season filled with peace and a New Year rich with joy.
